PLAZA SUITE
This day next week will be opening night of the Neil Simon play Plaza Suite. I am playing Norma Hubley, the long suffering wife of Roy and mother of Mimsey (a bride who on the morning of her wedding has locked herself in the bathroom of the hotel suite) Both Roy and Norma frantically try to coax Mimsey out. It is very silly and funny! Will Mimsey come out and get married? Will Norma have a heart attack from the stress? Will Roy jump from the window seven floors up? Come along to find out!
This will be my first time on stage with Dundalk Theatre Workshop and I am really looking forward to it. I'll be on stage with some of the best amateur actors in the country including Tim Ahern (All Ireland drama award winner) who plays my hubby Roy.
The play itself is made up of three individual short plays that are not connected. Each story is directed by a different local director. The first part by Matt Murphy, the second by Fergus Mullen and the final one by Gerry Ruddy, who is directing Norma and Roy's eventful stay in the suite.
Can't wait. Roll on next week!
