Sweet Sweet The Memories You Gave Me... one of my earlies memories is listening to my mother and father (who were known as the folk duo Des & Kay) singing this song in perfectly blended harmony. It is no wonder that their three offspring became singers and musicians. My older brother Patrick is a professional Musical Director/Pianist and my younger sister is a very successful primary school teacher (and beautiful singer!) and then there is me, I have been singing since I was 1, have been told that there is an old 8 reel of me singing "Irene Goodnight" in perfect tune at the age of 10 months...I would love to see that!
Throughout school and college (studying music in UCD), I sang at weddings and concerts. In addition to this I've been involved with many amateur musical productions including Oliver, Les Miserables, Jesus Christ Superstar, Jekyll & Hyde, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Little Women, The Pirate Queen, Chess, Annie Get Your Gun, Oklahoma, The Off Mikado, Lilac Time,Sweeney Todd (as Mrs Lovett) and many more! I have worked as Chorus Mistress for Oliver, Evita, The Wizard of Oz, Annie and numerous concerts. I am currently preparing a chorus of 50 for 9to5 the musical, which hopefully will take place in march 2022 bu the new Musical Society called NEMS. I also work as an accent coach advising many local drama groups. One of the most favourite aspects of my job is presenting vocal workshops, the latest of which I took to Sligo to share the billing with Declan Synnott for a workshop weekend.
I started studying Voice Teaching with the international voice teacher/singer&songwriter Andres Martorell back in 2012 and have not looked back since. I achieved level 3 certification as an IVA Voice teacher. I am the Irish regional director of the worldwide teaching organisation MVT (Modern Vocal Training). I currently lecture/teach part time in the ICMT (International College of Musical Theatre) in Belfast.
